WE HAVE MOVED

As of 2021/09/19 our new website is located at https://www.psfencing.co.uk – information on these pages will not be updated after today. Please find all the up to date information on our new site!

Portsmouth & Southsea Fencing Club is a busy fencing club catering for all three weapons: foil, épée and sabre. The club has been meeting for several years and meets at St Edmund Catholic School, Upper Arundel Street, Portsmouth. Portsmouth & Southsea is a friendly club and welcome visitors, whether they are just there to try their hand at a new sport or whether they are old hands who want a good night’s fencing.

Attending during COVID-19 measures

We have made a number of adjustments to keep our members safe in line with advice from British Fencing and the government. Please go to the dedicated page for complete information.

What you can expect on a Club Night

Club nights take place on Monday evenings at 6:30pm (juniors) or 7pm (seniors). A coach-led group lesson kicks off the session followed by free fencing on scoring boxes or 1-1 lessons with one of our coaches. All three weapons are featured on most nights, and there are usually 12-15 different fencers – plenty of variety!

Fencing Equipment available to borrow

The club has an extensive amount of kit available for fencers so that novices do not have to commit to buying everything all at once. There is also electric kit which can be used which comes in useful during club competitions (particularly when all the foilists become sabreurs for a night!!)
