The Bank Holiday weekend saw the fifth running of the Chichester Open. A nice local Open for the club where we were well represented with at least one entering each of the events.
Men’s foil saw Simon Dennis enter his first open who thoroughly enjoyed himself with the added bonus of not coming last, an achievement I think we’ll all relate to from our early days. Hopefully we’ll see him entering some more competitions!
Jenny Morris entered both the Foil and Epee and achieved a last eight finish in the Epee along with coming 9th in the Foil, a true master at arms!
Hannah Mitchell also entered the Women’s Epee and achieved a last eight placing. A result which puts her back in the Top 100 rankings after 10 years!
Men’s Epee saw brothers Liam and Devlin Stigant a Last 16 and Last 32 respectively.
Rob Eamey also just squeezed into the L32.
A wonderful performance by all from the seasoned veterans and the beginners alike.
