Gold at the Brighton Open

On the 6th of May 2012 Eryk, Ehsan and Gary went to the Brighton open and fenced against some tough competition.

Maciej was on hand to offer expert guidance, moral support and friendly face for our fencers

Gary fought bravely but eventually succumbed to a fencer known only to us as ‘Skellington Wellington’ and he finished in the top 8 out of 50 épéeists. A great result!

24 Sabreurs entered the competition and the Sabre Duo managed to compete admirably with Eryk coming 14th before finally being knocked out in fierce battle in his 2nd DE.

Ehsan’s performance however, was the highlight of the day, winning the gold for Portsmouth. He hopes the club name will soon inspire fear in the competitors!
